Mrs. Mary E. Ellis, 87, of Cisne died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, 1996, at the Cisne Health Care Center.
     She was the wife of Lowery Ellis
     Mrs. Ellis had been in the Health Care Center for 11 months. Prior to that she had resided with her son, Robert Ellis, Sr., and wife, Betty, here in Fairfield.

Mrs. Ellis was a housewife.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday from the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne, with Rev Nolan Eubank and Rev. Bob Fear officiating. Interment will be in Johnsonville Cemetery. Visitation at the H@sselton Funeral Home will be 6 to 8 Thursday evening (tonight).

She was born at Fairfield Sept. 3, 1908, the daughter of Sherman and Ola Upton Eaton.  On Dec. 24, 1927, in Fairfield, she was married to Lowery Ellis.

Mrs. Ellis was a member of the Johnsonville United Methodist Church, where she taught a Sunday School class for years. She was a member of the Johnsonville Ruritanette Club, a past member of the Cisne Woman's Club and the Home Bureau.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Memorials may be made to the Johnsonville united Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Lowery Ellis, of Cisne; one daughter, Mrs. Everett (Elaine) Young, of Versailles, Ky.; one son, Robert Ellis, Sr. of Fairfield; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two cousins.
