Jerry R. Mix, 55, Cisne, Dies At Flora Hospital

Jerry R. Mix, 55, of Cisne, died at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday Aug. 6, 1996, at Clay County Hospital ill Flora. Mr. Mix was rushed to the hospital by ambulance after being stricken at his home. He was under a doctor's care.

Mr. Mix was a well-known self-employed general contractor and active in the Cisne community. He served for 20 years as chairman of the Cisne Reunion Committee.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday morning (today) from the Holy Cross Catholic Church at Wendelin, with Father David Braun officiating Burial was in Cisne Cemetery. Visitation was held Wednesday evening at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne, with Masonic services at 7:30.

He was born at Cisne Feb. 23 1941, the son of Charlie C. and Rosamond Anderson Mix. Mr. Mix was married to Vicki Stanford at Cisne June 12, 1964.

He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church at Wendelin, the Anthony Doherty Masonic Lodge No. 1111 at Cisne, the Flora Elks Lodge; the Scottish Rites at Belleville and Ainad Shrine Temple in East St. Louis.

Preceding him in death were his father and one daughter. Memorials may be made to the Holy Cross Catholic Church at Wendelin or to the American Heart Association.

Surviving are his wife; his mother, Mrs. Rosamond Mix, of Cisne; two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Sandra) Kessler, of Clay City; and Mrs. Everett (Pamela) Bissey, of Cisne; one sister, Mrs. Robert (Linda) Taylor, of Flora; two brothers, Bill Mix, of Washington, Ill.; and Larry Mix, of Cisne; and three grandchildren.
