Mrs. Aline Hamilton Dies; Wrote Ellery News For Years

Mrs. Aline Hamilton, 88, of Ellery, died at 5:25 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, 1996, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.

She was the Press country correspondent at Ellery for over 40 years. Mrs. Hamilton had an Ellery letter in the Press on Thursday, the day she died.

Mrs. Hamilton was a homemaker.

Funeral services were conducted Monday morning (today) from the Ingram Funeral Home in Albion, with Bro. Jim Kern officiating. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery at Albion. A visitation was conducted at Ingram's Sunday evening.

She was born in Wayne County Sept. 17, 1907, the daughter of Morris and Gertrude Woods Johnson. On Dec. 9, 1939, in Henderson, Ky., she was married to James E. Hamilton. He passed away Oct. 11 1982. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one sister and one brother.

Mrs. Hamilton was a member of the Ellery Christian Church where she taught Sunday School primary classes for several years.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jim (Barbara) Thompson, of Ellery; a sister, Mary Percy, of Albion; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
