Donald Bailey, Wayne City Filling Station Owner, Dies

Donald Bailey, 59, of Wayne City, died at 3 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 1996, at Crossroads Community Hospital.

Mr. Bailey operated the Shell service station in Wayne City and at the I-64/Rt. 242 interchange south of Wayne City for 27 years. He also had operated Bailey's Trailer court in Wayne City.

Funeral rites will be at 10:30 Tuesday morning from the Richardson Funeral Home, with Rev. Roger Tate officiating. Interment will be in Thomason Cemetery, Wayne City. Visitation at the Richardson Chapel will be after 6 o'clock Monday evening (tonight).

He was born in Wayne County May 22, 1937, the son of Morris and Theoba Ash Bailey. On June 8, 1958, he was married to Carrene Faulkner.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two grandchildren.

Mr. Bailey had served in the U.S. Navy.
