Mrs. Amabel Wood, 67, of Carmi, died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 1984, at Carmi Township Hospital at Carmi. Mrs. Wood was ill with cancer and the flu, the Press was told. She was the sister of Judge Harry Ziegler , of Fairfield.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at First United Presbyterian Church at Carmi with Rev John Pereboom officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Ridge Cemetery there. Visitation will be conducted from 3-7 p.m. Thursday (today) at Campbell Funeral Home at Carmi.

Mrs. Wood was born July 18, 1917 at Carmi, the daughter of Harry L. and Jean Byrd Campbell Ziegler.

She was a semi-retired bookkeeper employed with Absher Chevrolet at Carmi. Survivors include a son, Robert Wood of Carmi; and one brother, Judge Harry Ziegler, of Fairfield.
