Charley A. Greathouse, 97, Rural Xenia Man, Dies

Rural Xenia resident, Charley A. Greathouse, 97, died at 12.41 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 1984, at Clay County Hospital at Flora. He was the father of Mrs. Eunice Sharar and Mrs. Opal Shehorn, both of Xenia, and Mrs. Ruby Milner, of Johnsonville.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday (today) at Hosselton, Bookhout, Engelmeier Funeral Home at Flora with Bro. Ray Phillips officiating. Burial was in Jacobs Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Greathouse was born in Wayne County Jan. 11, 1887 the son of William and Dora (Deselms) Greathouse. He was married to the former Nettie Holleman at Orchardville July 7, 1910, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Greathouse was a retired farmer. He was a member of Jacobs Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ruby Milner, of Johnsonville; and Mrs. Eunice Sharar and Mrs. Opal Shehorn, both of Xenia; 11 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by three brothers.
