Golden Gate Native Dies In Bradenton, Fla. Hospital

Mrs. Dollie Gallagher, 91, of Bradenton, Fla., and former Olney resident, died at noon Sunday, July 17, 1994, at Blake Hospital in Bradenton. She was a native of Golden Gate and sister of Maxine Moore, of Cisne.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon (today) from the Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney, with Dr. Bruce Owens officiating. Interment was in Haven Hill Cemetery at Olney.

She was born at Golden Gate Dec. 13, 1902, the daughter of Thomas and Maude Nesler Walters. She was married to Joy M. Gallagher, who preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death were her parents and one son.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southeastern Illinois. Mrs. Gallagher was a retired teacher and a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Venice, Fla. She was a charter member of the Olney Business & Professional Women's Club and member of the National Education Association.

Surviving are a daughter, Doris Buckels, of Bradenton, Fla.; two brothers, George Walter, of Kankakee; and Jesse Walter, of Salt Lake City, Utah; four sisters, Juanita Flowers, of Dallas, Tex.; Kathryn Lane, of Nashville, Tenn.; Maxine Moore, of Cisne; and Nora Bullock, of Clifton; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
