Mrs. Vivian Lewis, 74, Dies of Burns; Rites At Flora

Mrs. Vivian Lewis, 74, of Flora, died at 3:20 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 1994, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., from burns.

She was a former Fairfield resident and sister of Mrs. Maxine Hinman and Mrs.Ellen Clark here.

Mrs. Lewis was burned over 80 to 90 percent of her body in an accident at her home early Thursday morning. She was taken to the Barnes Burn Center for treatment.

Funeral rites were conducted Monday morning (today) from the Frank & Bright Funeral Home, with Bro. Kip Knavel officiating. Interment was in the Floral Garden of Memories at Flora.

She was born at Flora Jan. 3, 1920, the daughter of Jennings H. and Beaula Hubble Simmons. She was reared in Fairfield and attended school here.  On July 26, 1945 in Linclon, Nebr. she was married to Eugene Calvin Lewis.  He passed away Jan. 17, 1982.

She was a member of the Flora First Christian Church and Neon Sunday School class.

Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, one son and one sister.

Surviving are one son, David Lewis, of Flora; and two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Maxine) Hinman and Mrs. Jack (Eileen) Clark, both of Fairfield.
