Mrs. Goldie Mattox Griffith, 78, of Flora, died at 5:50 a.m. Friday, July 1, 1994, at the Flora Pavilion. She was a housewife.

Funeral rites were conducted Monday morning from Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, with burial in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at Xenia.

She was born in Songer Township of Clay County July 8, 1915, the daughter of Frank and Rebecca Merrihew Builes.  On Apr. 16, 1934, in Flora, she was married to William Dentford Mattox. He died June 25, 1966. Later, on Aug. 1, 1974, she was married to Frank Griffith. He passed away July 25, 1975.

She was a member of the Flora Assembly of God church.

Surviving are a son, Gerald Mattox, of Flora; one daughter, Mrs. Arturo Shirley) Rael, of Los Lunas, New Mex.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; seven stepgreat grandchildren; and two step great-great grandchildren.
