Cuma B. Chapman,90, of Albion, mother of a Mossville woman, passed away at 2:40A.M. Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at the rest Haven Manor in Albion.

Cuma was born Oct. 1, 1915, in Wayne Co. Illinois.Her parents were George and Laura (Garris) Pepperworth. She married  Delbert Chapman on Dec. 29,1934. He preceded her in death Dec. 27, 1954.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Albion and a member of  the Order of  Eastern Star. She worked for many years at the old AlbionNursing Home for Mrs Hammam before also moving over to the new Rest Haven Manor. She also helped at the Edwards Co. Senoir Citizens and was an avid quilter.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Lou  (John) Knight of Grayville, Ill.,Joyce Walker of Mossville, Ill., and Karen (Brian) Reid-Schroeder of Albion, Ill.;seven grandchildren,Ralph Knight of Grayville,Ill., Larry(Melanie) Knight of Grayville, Ill.,Jeff(Rachel) Walker of Marquette Heights,Ill.,Jennifer (Jim) Gibbs of Morton, Ill.,Judith (John) Huser of Morton, Ill., Darin (Sonya) Vallette of Springfield, Va., Mike (Yolanda) Vallette of Ellery, Ill.; eight great-grandchildren, Eric, Dylan, Taylor, and Lucas Knight, Sarah Huser,Asher and  Kesney Vallette and A.J. Walker;and also a daughter-in-law Barbara Terry of Albion, Ill..

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son Jerry Chapman, who died in 1968 in the Vietnam War, and two sons-in-law, Richard Walker in 1993 and Clyde Reid in 1997, brothers and  sisters.

A Funeral service will be Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, at 11A.M. at the Ingram Funeral Home in Albion.Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006 from 4 to 6 P.M. at the Ingram Funeral Home in Albion.Memorials may be made to the Edwards County Senior Citizens.
