DELBERT ATTEBERRY
DIED IN WAYNE CITY

Delbert B. Atteberry, former resident near Fairfield, passed away Friday afternoon at his home in Wayne City following a paralytic stroke. He was thought to have been suffering with heart complications.

Funeral services were conducted at two o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Pleasant Grove Baptist church by Rev. A. M. Smith. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove cemetary.

Delbert Benjamin Atteberry, son of Nathan and Martha Atteberry, was born in Wayne County, February 7, 1869, and departed this life at Wayne City, June 7, 1940 at the age of seventy-one years and four months.

He was married to Rena Sanders, March 4, 1895. To this union eight children were born, Earl E., of Conversse, Ind.; Frank H. of Fairbury; and Leonard K. of Fairfield; and William Ralph, Cora and Ruth died in infancy and Fred died at the age of fourteen.His wife, Rena, passed away April 24, 1915.

On October 2, 1939, he was united in marriage to Lulu Warren of Fairfield, who mourns his passing. Three brothers, William, Oscar and David, and two sisters, Mrs. Lyde Snyder and Mrs. Rose Koontz preceded him in death. One sister, Mrs. F. C. Wright, survives.

His entire life was spent in Wayne county with the exception of sixteen years spent in Champaign and Douglas Counties.
