Luella Florence Brock Mullinax

Luella Florence daughter of  I. T. and Roxcinia Brock was born Dec. 10, 1857, near Jeffersonville, IL, where she was reared to womanhood's estate.

In her maidenhood, she confessed her faith in Christ and was baptized into his body entering the fellowship of the Pleasant Grove congregation.

Later on June 25, 1876, she was united in marriage to Richard A. Mullinax.  To this union nine children were born, four boys and five girls, all of whom are still living except the oldest, Edith, who passed away at six months of age.

After the family had all reached maturity the father passed away on June 11, 1913.  Since then the widowed mother has made her home with her daughter Lela.

Sister Mullinax was a devout spirit, a faithful student of the Word of God and when her daughter came to Gilbert, Arkansas, she accompanied her to the new home.  For three years she has been in ill health which resulted in her final illness of three months and three days duration.

On Nov. 20th, 1921 she passed over the river to meet her loved ones who have gone on before.

She leaves to lament her departure three brothers and two sisters, four sons, Charles L. of Stanford, Ill., Ross J. of Paxton, Ill., Isaac Levi of Murdock, Ill., and Guy O. of Fairfield, Ill., and four daughters, Myrtle Derby and Bulah (Beulah) McQueen of Murdock, Ill.,  Jessie Harshbarger, Whiting, Ind., and Lela Kern of Gilbert, Arkansas, 20 grandchildren and a host of friends who await the promised reunion on the other shore.

Funeral services were held at Gilbert, Arkansas on the evening of Nov. 21, and the remains were taken to the old home at Pleasant Grove cemetery for interment.
