MRS.  NANCY  (KING)  JONES

Mrs. Nancy Jones wife of A. C. Jones, daughter of Thomas and Sara Ann King was born April 28, 1848, died May 27, 1918 aged 70 years and 29 days. She was married to A. C. Jones, March 29, 1868 being married 50 years 2 months, and to this union was born 2 girls and 2 boys, namely Cora A., Lunia M., Gussie and Homer E.

She professed faith in Christ about 34 years ago and united with the G. B. Church at Victory and later became a charter member of the Sims G. B. Church to which she remained a faithful member until death. She was an active and useful member as long as her health permitted her to attend church, having taught the young ladies S. S. class for about 8 years. Was also president of Ladies' Aid Society for a number of years. She has been a constant sufferer for years, but bore her sufferings with patience and christian fortitude, often saying she was ready to go when the summons came.

She leaves to mourn her departure a husband, 1 sister, 8 children, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchild,   1 daughter having preceded her in death leaving two children, Edna and Leslie Shewmake, which she reared as her own.

The husband lost a loving and faithful companion, the children a loving and devoted mother.  The church a faithful and useful member. She will be sadly missed in the home. The church and S. S. but to the bereaved we can say weep not as those who have no hope. She has gone to that home that Jesus said he had gone to prepare for those that love and serve him.

Funeral services was conducted by Rev. Theo E. Melton of Xenia, Ill., at Sims in the General Baptist Church, in the presence of a large congregation of relatives and friends Wednesday at 2 p. m. Interment at Bovee cemetery.

Mr. A. C. Jones, husband of the deceased is a well known merchant and business man of Sims and has many friends who join in sympathizing with him and family in having to give up their loved ones.
