Woman of Fairfield

Mrs. Anna Aylles-Jackson, former well-known and respeeted Wayne county matron, passed away at 11:15 o’clock Thursday, January 1st, at her home In Clayton. Mo.  She had been In fatling health for some time suffering with the ailment of advanced age. She would- have be ninety-two July 31st.

The remains were brought to Fairfield shortly after noon Saturday and the Sheppard Funeral Service of St. Louis, conducted the funeral at the First Christian church here.  Rev. Ira C. Boyts was the minister.  Burial was in  the Maple Hill cemetery.

Anna Ayles Jackson, daughter of Elias S. and Parlie A Ayles. was born July 31st. 1850 in Summerfield, Ohio.

When four years old, came with her parents to Fairfield.   Here she attended her first school. She was converted at a meeting at Pleasant Grove Christian Church near Geff and was baptized by Elder D. D. Miller, in  June 1861.

On.October 31st 1868 was married to James Miller Jackson, her maternal grandfather, Elder George Brock officiating.  To this union six children were born, two daughters, Mrs. J . A.  Lear, of Fairfield and Mrs. J.  M. Harris, St. Louis, Mo.; four sons. Stonewall, Columbia, IlL; Orville A.. DesMoines, Iowa; James A., Fairfield and Charles N.  The laut named and her husband preceded her in death.in 1883.

Attending the funeral from a distance -were: Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Harris,. Mr. and Mrs Paul Britt,  Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Simpson and family, all of St. Louis, Mo.:  Mr. and Mrs. Jackson and daughter Anna and grandson, Eddie Laubner;  all of  Columbia, Illinois;  Mr. and Mrs Leslie Lear and son, of Washburn,  Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Jackson anu Mr. and Mrs. Will Brock, Geff;
Mr and Mrs. D. U. Brock and Mr and Mrs. Eli Brockk, Cisne.
