DALE  C  FINLEY

Dale C. Finley, 58, former well-known Fairfield man, died early Tuesday morning at the Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, from cancer.

Mr. Finley, a brother of Mrs. Willie Blackburn and Mrs. Jessie McNeil, of this city, was hospitalized last March and then again seven weeks ago in his final illness.

Years ago Mr. Finley was purchasing agent for the old Sexton Mfg. Co., here. That was in the 1920's and 1930's. He worked for Sextons for 15 years. When the Pure Oil Co. started leasing land in this county in 1936. Mr. Finley went to work for that company and continued with Pure until his death, serving as their land man. He moved to Olney about 20 years ago.

Funeral services were held from the Schaub Funeral Home in Olney Thursday afternoon (today), with Rev. Paul Ragsdale in charge. Internment was in Crest Haven Cemetery near Olney.

Dale, son of Charles and Clara Finley, was born near Fairfield April 10, 1899. He was married to a Fairfield girl, Eva Young, and one son was born to this union.

Mr. Finley was a very active member of the Olney First Methodist church and had been Sunday School superintendent for several years. He was a member of the Fairfield Masonic Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Eva; a son, Dale C. Finley, Jr., also of Olney; his mother, Mrs. Clara Finley, who resides here and at Cook Station, Mo.; one grandchild; one brother, Loa Finley, of Johnsonville; and three sisters, Mrs. Blackburn and Mrs. McNeil, both of Fairfield; and Mrs. Ozella Gorman, of Cook Station, MO.
