ROY   J   FINLEY

Roy J. Finley, 66, of 113 North street, died at Memorial Hospital at 12:10 a.m. Friday, seven hours after suffering a stroke at his home.

Mr. Finley a veteran of 17 years employment at Airtex, had been on sick leave from the factory since November when he suffered a heart attack.   Mr. Finley had partially recovered from that heart attack but suffered the stroke Thursday afternoon.

Funeral services will be Sunday afternoon from the Ellen Moore Methodist church with Rev. Dennis Doane officiating. Interment was in Victory cemetery. Nales Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Finley had lived in Fairfield for the past five years but prior to that spent most of his life in Lamard township northwest of Fairfield. He was born in Wayne county June 16, 1892, the son of J. D. and Sarah Finley.

Mr. Finley was converted to Christ and joined the old Mt. Olivet Methodist church, where he retained his membership, although in recent years he has attended the Ellen Moore Methodist church here. He was married to Lola Young, with three children born to this union. One son, Delmar, died in 1933. Three brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Maurice, of near Fairfield; one daughter; Lyndal, wife of Joe White, of Barnhill; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Maude Taylor of Flora; and Mrs. Mary Brown, of Kansas.
