MRS.  OLLIE  (FINLEY)  REDD

Mrs. Homer M. Redd, 69, well-known Fairfield resident, died about three o'clock Monday afternoon at Memorial hospital of cancer.

Mrs. Redd, whose husband operates the Redd Hatchery here, had been in declining health since January when she underwent an operation at the Olney hospital. She was hospitalized here about a month. Funeral services were held from the Cumberland Presbyterian church Thursday afternoon (today) with Rev. J. G. Whiteside and Rev. W. E. Courtright officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery. The Dixon & Crippin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Redd lived practically her entire life in the Fairfield vicinity.

Olive Finley Redd was born May 23rd, 1887, the daughter of J. D. and Sarah Owen Finley. She was born and grew to womanhood at the old Finley homestead on Mt. Vernon Road six miles west of Fairfield. Early in life she confessed faith in Christ and joined the Mt. Olivet M. E. church. Later she transferred her membership to the Fairfield C. P. church.

On April 9th, 1909, she was married to Homer M. Redd and three children were born to this union. Their eldest son, Finley Eldon, died in infancy.

Surviving are her husband; a son, Byron, of Fairfield; a daughter, Mrs. Ester Melson, of Springfield; five grandchildren; one brother, Roy J. Finley, of Fairfield, and two sisters, , of Topeka, Kans., and Maude Taylor, of Flora.
