Ellis E. Burgess, 61, Dies Suddenly; Rites Wednesday

Ellis E. Burgess, 61 of Cisne, died at the St. Marys Hospital  emergency room in Centralia at 5:21 a.m. Sunday, Apr. 2, 1995, from an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Burgess was employed here as Work Order engineer for Wayne-White Counties  Electric Cooperative.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Fairfield RLDS Church, with Elder Dale Warren officiating.  Burial will be in Poplar Creek Cemetery, west of Orchardville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.

He was born at Orchardville July 20, 1933, the son of Jesse L. and Ora Lou Goosetree Burgess.  On May 21, 1953, he was married to Shirley Harrell, at Zenith.

Mr. Burgess was an Elder in the Fairfield RLDS Church, a former member of the Cisne Rotary Club, a past president of the Orchardville Board of Education and previously drove an ambulance for the North Wayne Ambulance Service.

Memorials may be made to the Brush Creek Campgrounds in northwestern Wayne County.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Rob (Marlys) Levi, of Cisne; four sons, Mike, of Cisne; Mark, of St. Lauis; Matt, of Mt. Vernon; and Marty, of Xenia; three brothers Neil Kenneth Burgess, of Salem; Olaf Burgess of Brooksville, Miss.; and Earl Burgess of Xenia; and nine grandchildren.
