Kathryn Bell Wilson, 83, of Fairfield, died at 9:53 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Ind.

She was born on April 11, 1925, in Wayne County, daughter of Joe and Hester Niccum Bell. She married James C. Wilson and he preceded her in death on May 25, 1989.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by five daughters, Pam Vickrey and husband Charlie of Iuka, Fonda Booker and husband Keith of Millington, Tenn., Becky Wilson and husband Bill Maury of Geff, Gayla Hutcheson and husband Earl of Fairfield and Jana McCullough and husband Jim Tams of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Patty Sanders of Mt. Vernon; two brothers, Wilford Bell of Fairfield and Wilborn Bell of Manchester, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and an infant son, James Michael.

She was a retired school teacher. Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Wayne County Retired Teachers, Geff Ruritanettes, a volunteer of Fairfield Memorial Quilters and Geff Quilters.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel in Fairfield with Brother Richard Hart officiating.  Burial will be at Scott Cemetery in Mt. Erie.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
