Prof. J. Lynn Wilson

He Had Been Ill Year With
Cancer  at His Home In
Nashville
_________

Citizens of Fairfield and Barnhill communities were shocked last week-end to learn that J. Lynn Wilson, a man who in his  boyhood and early manhood had endeared himself to old and young had died at his home in Nashville.  Still a young man, only 34, Mr. Wilson was head of the schools at Nashville, and had had a pleasant and profitable teaching experience in Fairfield.

He had been in failing health for about a year, suffering from cancer.

For more than four years, Prof. Wilson had taken treatment for an infectional complication.  Later a glandular disorder appeared which was diagnosed as cancer.  About two weeks ago he under went a minor operation in a St. Louis hospital.  Returning he attemped to continue his work as principal of the Nashville grade and higher schools, but he was able to remain at his work only three days after which he was confined at his home.

Although specialists had informed family members that he would not likely live more than three months.  Prof. Wilson until the last was optimistic about his chances for recovery.  His condition took a sudden turn for worse Friday, however and death followed immediatly.

Funeral services were conducted in the gymnasium of the Nashville high school Monday afternoon after which  the remains were brought to Fairfield where short services were held at the graveside.
