Mrs. H. F. Vaughan Dies In Hospital
Funeral  Saturday

Rachel Rebecca Vaughan,  formerly of Barnhill, widow of the late H. F.  Vaughan, died at 5 p.m. on Sunday  in the Fairfield Memorial Hospital following an illness of nine years.

She had bedrest for the last two and one-half years.  For the past year she had been resided at  the nursing home in Mt. Vernon.  Mrs. Vaughan died at the age of 75 years, six months and one day.

Funeral services were held Monday at 11 a.m. from the Barnhill Baptist church, with the Rev. Lappin of Wayne City officiating.  Interment was in the Pleasant Grove cemetery.

Mrs.  Vaughan was the daughter of Wesley and Rebecca Reed and was born in Wayne near Burnt Prairie, March 1, 1875.

On Feb. 14, 1895 she was united in marriage to H. F. Vaughan, who preceded her in death, May 8, 1942.  To this union three children were born; Anna Koontz and Perry of Fairfield and Herman of Peoria.

Besides her children, she is survived by four grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Hattie Stewart, of Springfield, Mo., and numerous other relatives and friend.

Three sisters, Amelia, Eliza and Mary, and four brothers, George, Will, Charlie and an infant brother, Curtis, preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Barnhill.
