Rites Held Tuesday At Nales

Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa E. Vaughan, 90, a resident many years of the Pond Creek area, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Nales Funeral Home.  Elder John P. Smith officiated with burial in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Died At Hospital
Mrs. Vaughan died at 9 p.m. Sunday night at Fairfield Memorial Hospital, a few hours after she was admitted.  She has been suffering from an extended illness.

She was born in Wayne County Jan. 26, 1889, , the daughter of William and Mary (Shores) Harris.  She was married Aug. 6, 1911 to Charlie Vaughan,  who died in 1968.

Mrs. Vaughan spent all of her life in Wayne County.  She lived southeast of Fairfield in Pond Cteek.  Her son, Virgil,  lived with her.

She was a rnember of the Primitive Baptist Church.

TheSurvivors

Surviving are two sons, Virgil, at home; and Earl, of Evansville; one daughter, Mrs. Jesse. (Mary) Simms, of FairfIeld; eight grandchildren;,  several  greatgrandchildren;  four sisters, Mrs Lee (Marie) Wilson and Mrs. Cynthia Laws, both of Fairfield,  Mrs. Olive Laws, of Carmi and Mrs. Ella Kirkman, in Ohio.
