Michael H. Etienne, 86, Dies;
Farmer, Retired Road Chief

Michael H. Etienne, 86, of Springerton, died at 7:35 p.m. Monday, Apr. 15, 1996, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.

Mr. Etienne was a farmer and retired road commissioner for Mill Shoals Township.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon (today) from the Elledge Funeral Home in Enfield, with interment in Hammack Cemetery at Springerton. A visitation was held Wednesday evening at Elledge Funeral Home.

He was born at Enfield June 26, 1909, the son of John J. and Daisy Jarboe Etienne.  On Jan. 10, 1953, he was married to Norma Cushman.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one son; one brother; three sisters and one great-grandson.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Richard (Rick) Etienne, of Springerton; Burt Etienne, of Alvington, Ky.; and Gene Etienne, of Seabring, Fla.; one stepson, Randy Sheraden, of Martinsville, Ind.; four sisters, Angeline Hendrix, of Denver, Ind.; Pearl Boling, of Boonville, Ind.; Lucille DeWitt, of Springerton; and Esther Martin, of Springfield; seven grandchildren, six great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
