Harold N. Forbes, 81, Dies In Michigan; Rites Here

Harold M. Forbes, 81, longtime Barnhill Township farmer, died Tuesday morning, Apr. 9, 1996, at Oak Lawn Hospital in Marshall, Mich.      He had been in declining health.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday from Nale's Funeral Home, with Rev. E. R. Adams officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at Nales from 5 to 8 Friday evening, with Masonic rites at 7:30 p.m.

He was born at Barnhill Nov. 4, 1914, the son of John and Reva Meeks Forbes.      On June 10, 1939, he was married to Ruth Byers. She passed away May 18, 1975.  Later he was married to Ruth Dixon.

 Mr. Forbes was a 50 year member of the Fairfield Masonic Lodge and a past grandmaster of the Lodge.

He was a member of the Barnhill Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (June) Renfroe, of Homer, Mich.; a son, Lynn Forbes, of Brocton, Ill., and formerly of Carterville; two sisters, Reva Ivers, of Champaign; and Doris Jeffrey, of Evansville, Ind.; a stepson, Jim Dixon, of Marion, Ohio; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife; one brother; and a grandson.
