Thelma Gibson Wynn, Native Of Mt. Erie, Dies

Mrs. Thelma I. Gibson Wynn, of Parkersburg, died at 2:32 p.m. Wednesday, Apr. 3, 1996, at her home.  She was a homemaker and had worked at International Shoe Factory.

Mrs. Wynn was a native of Wayne County.

Funeral rites were conducted Saturday morning from the Summers Kistler Funeral Home in Olney, with Rev. Eddie Hodge and Rev. Dale Sims officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery at Parkersburg.  Visitation was held Friday evening at the funeral home.

She was born at Mt. Erie Apr. 3, 1912, the daughter of Kendrick and Eva May LaRue Gibson. On Sept. 28, 1932, she was married to Cloyd Roscoe Wynn.

Mrs. Wynn was a member of the New Life Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Olney.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southeastern Illinois.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, one sister and one grandson.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Kendall Cloren (Corky) Wynn, of Lindsay, Calif.; and Cloyd R. Wynn, Jr., of New Albany, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. Bill (Marilyn Sue) Ritter, of Olney; two sisters, Viola Greathouse, of West Salem; and Pearl Billington, of Clay City; six grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.
