Ronnie Ellis, 39, Dies In Michigan;
Was Trucker

Ronnie Ellis, 39, of Marion, Ark., and formerly of Fairfield, died Thursday, Apr. 4, 1996 in Ionia County, Mich., in the Grand Rapids area.

A cross-country truck driver, Ronnie and the owner of the truck had unloaded their load Thursday morning and around noon stopped at a restaurant where the owner went in to eat.  Ronnie, who had not been feeling well, said he would get some sleep instead and he curled up in the bunk.

When the owner returned, he found Ronnie dead. The death is believed due to gastritis hemorrhaging. Ellis had diabetes.

Funeral services were conducted from the Johnson Funeral Home Monday morning (today), with Rev Keith Turner officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery. A visitation was held at the Johnson Chapel Sunday evening.

Mr. Ellis was born in Fairfield Sept. 4, 1956, the son of Glen and Margaret Smerdon Ellis.

 He attended Ellen Moore United Methodist Church here.

Surviving are his parents Glen and Margaret Ellis, of Fairfield; one ; son, Jimmy Ellis, of Fairfield; one daughter, Crystal Dawn Ellis, of Fairfield; two sisters, Glenda Bennett of Champaign; and Pamela Caudle, of Fairfield; and one brother, Jerry Ellis, of Mt. Vernon.
