Emma Dozier, 85, Dies

Mrs. Emma Adeline Dozier, 85, of the High Rise Apartments, the mother of Miss Beulah Dozier and Ralph Dozier, of Fairfield, died at 4:42 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 1983, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.  She was a resident of Way-Fair Restorium for four months before entering the hospital suffering from cancer.  Mrs Dozier lived in the High Rise with her daughter before becoming a resident of the nursing home.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday (today) at the Elledge Funeral Home in Mill Shoals. Burial was in Kitty-Sweeten Cemetery east of Springerton.

Mrs. Dozier was born in Illinois Feb. 24, 1898, the daughter of William and Luticia (Wyatt) Reever.  She was raised in the Olney and Springerton areas. She attended Buck Skin School near Springerton.  She was married to Everett Dozier a farmer and truck driver.  He preceded her in death in March of 1973. She was a housewife and homemaker during her marriage.

Mrs. Dozier was a member of the Springerton Christian Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Miss Beulah Dozier, of Fairfield; eight sons, Lester Dozier, of Burley, Idaho; Marvin and Lawrence Dozier, both of Springerton; John Dozier, of Mill Shoals; Ralph Dozier, of Fairfield; Lloyd Dozier, of Prescott, Wash.; Kenneth Dozier, of Kent Wash.; and Carroll Dozier, of Burnt Prairie; 25 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband; five brothers; two sisters and one infant child.
