Tub Robertson, Found Dead; Wayne City Man

Howard "Tub" Robertson, 74 a retired gasoline distributor of Wayne City, was pronounced dead at his home at 1 p m Sunday, Apr. 24, 1983, following an apparent heart attack.   Mr. Robertson was found dead on the living room floor of his trailer by neighbors who came to check on him.

According to Wayne County coroner, Bob Johnson, Mr. Robertson had apparently fallen out of a chair in the living room with a cigarette in his hand. A carpet burn was found where the cigarette had ignited the carpeting and then extinguished.  Mr. Robertson lived alone He had a history of a heart condition.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Richardson Funeral Home, of Wayne City, with Rev. Richard McCormick officiating.  Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery south of Wayne City.  Visitation will be held after 6 p.m.  Monday (tonight) at the funeral home in Wayne City.

Mr. Robertson was born in Wayne County Apr. 9, 1909, the son of Charles andMartha (Crawford) Robertson.  He was married to Golda Robertson who preceded him in death Mar. 28, 1980.

Survivors include two brothers, Herbert and Delmas Robertson, both of Wayne City one sister, Mrs. Hazel Byars, of Mt. Vernon; one half-brother, Homer Robertson, of Danville.
