Funeral Rites Are Conducted For Guthrie P. (Gus) Dalton  ø

Funeral services for Guthrie P. (Gus) Dalton, 70, of Rockford, were conducted in Fairfield Thursday morning
(today), at Nale's Funeral Home, with Bro. Carroll Kakac officiating.  Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery, with full military rites. Earlier, on Tuesday evening, services were conducted at the Delehanty Funeral Home in Rockford, with Rev. Buddy Brown officiating.  A visitation was held at Nale's this morning, just prior to the 11:30 a.m. services.

Mr. Dalton died at 10:40 p.m. Sunday Oct. 9, 1994, at Rockford Memorial Hospital, after an eight year battle with emphysema.   He was employed as a painter for 17 years by the Amrock Corp., retiring in 1984.  He lived at Rockford 40 years.

Mr. Dalton was born at Marion, Ky., Mar. 25, 1924, the son of Jesse and Grace Riley Dalton.     On June 13, 1949, he was married to Joy Parsons.     Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister and two brothers.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Tony (Nancy) Magdaleno, of Dixon, Calif.; a son, Greg Dalton, of Rockford; three granddaughters; one grandson; a sister, Mrs. Weldon (Frances) Galiher, of Fairfield; two brothers, J. R. and Charlie Dalton, both of Fairfield; and several nieces and nephews.
