TUSCOLA - Funeral services for John William Dallas, 73, of rural Tuscola will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Waddington Funeral Home, Tuscola, the Rev. David Monro officiating. Burial will be in Cartwright Cemetery, west of Tuscola. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Dallas died at 8:18 p.m. Thursday (June 29, 1989) at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur.
He was born August 30, 1915, in Wayne County, a son of Ernest and Anna Marshall Dallas. He married Marie Jacobs on Dec 28, 1938, at Rockville, Ind. She survives. Also surviving are a son, John W Dallas of Arthur; two daughters, Nancy Hibbard of Penn Yan, NY., Pam Ernst of Sullivan; four sisters, Geneva Navel of Bourbon, Ruby Talley and Verona Dallas, both of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lena Henderson of Fairfield; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter. Mr. Dallas was a retired grain farmer and farm machinery mechanic.
