Mary Worley Schroeder, Fairfield Native, Dies

Mrs. Mary Maxine (Worley) Schroeder, 61, of Sycamore, Ill., who was born and reared in Fairfield, died Friday, Aug. 16, 1985, at the Sycamore hospital.  Mrs. Schroeder, who had been in poor health from a complication of problems, died from a heart attack, the Press was told.

 Funeral services were conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sycamore, with Rev. Loren Krout officiating.  Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore.

Mrs. Schroeder was born in Fairfield Feb. 23, 1924, the daughter of Henry and Bessie (Behymer) Worley. She was married to Hillard H. Schroeder May 8, 1948.

 She was the owner and operator of Schroeder's Cafe in Sycamore for over 18years. She had been gone from the Fairfield area for over 40 years.  Mrs. Schroeder was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Sycamore.

Survivors include one son, Terry of Sycamore; two daughters, Meiba Dailey, of Sycamore; and Phyllis Ruthe, of Sycamore; four brothers, Gaylord Worley, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Henry Worley, of Houston, Tex.; Robert Worley, of Abilene, Tex., and Thomas Worley, of Sycamore; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister and a brother.
