Glen Zimmerman, 81, Former Zif Township Assessor-Teacher, Dies
Former Zif township assessor and school teacher,

Glen Zimmerman, 81, of Clay City, died at 12:08 a.m. Monday (today), Aug. 5, 1985, at Clay Count Hospital in Flora, following an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Zimmerman was the bother of Mrs. Beulah Smith and brother-in-law of Wayne County Supervisor of Assessments Burt Bates, both of Fairfield.

Funeral services are pending at Hosselton-Bookhout-Engelmeier Funeral Home at Clay City.

Mr. Zimmerman was born in Wayne County, Sept. 23, 1903, the son of John and Clara Ulm Zimmerman.   He married Marie Bates at Louisville, June 14, 1933.

Mr. Zimmeman taught at various schools in both Wayne and Clay counties for 37 years before retiring from education. He served for 40 years as Zif township assessor and was an insurance agent for 40 years with Farm Mutual.   He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church near Clay City and Clay City Masons.

Survivors, include his wife, Marie Zimmerman, of Clay City; two sons, Max Zimmerman, of Clay City; and Larry Zimmerman, of Diamond Bar, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Beulah Smith, of Fairfield; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.
