Henry Silas Steele, son of James and Nancy M. Steele, was born in Carrolton, Kentucky, Nov. 22, 1872 and departed this liife Oct. 12th, 1946.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother and one sister, Ella.

He never married and for many years resided with his parents, helping to care for them in their declining years. After their passing, he continued to reside in the old home at Cisne, until illness made it necessary for him to enter the St. John's Sanitarium at Springfield, where he passed peacefully away at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 20 days.

He leaves to mourn his passing one brother, John Steele, of Lincoln; one sister, Mrs. F.M. Flick, of Pontiac, also six nephews and two nieces and many friends who will miss his friendly greeting and ready hand, as he was always ready to help anyone in need as long as he was able to do so, though his failing eyesight the past several years has made it impossible for him to undertake any active vocation.

Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Church in Cisne, Monday morning, Oct. 14th, at 10 o'clock. Burial was in the family lot in the Cisne cemetery.
