Former Wayne City Woman Dies

Mrs. Lillie Wells, 100, formerly of Wayne City and a resident of Odin, died at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 1983, at. St. Mary's Hospital at Centralia.  She had moved to the Odin Care Center Nursing Home at Odin in 1974 from Wayne City.

 Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City, with Bro. Oakley Miller officiating.  Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery near Wayne City.  Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Monday (tonight) at the funeral home in Wayne City.

Mrs. Wells was born in Wayne county Jan. 31, 1882, the daughter of John and Catherine (Anderson) Mayberry.  She was married to Isaac Wells in 1904, who preceded her in death in 1954.    Mr. and Mrs. Wells farmed south of Wayne City early in their marriage and later managed a children's home.  Mrs. Wells was a member of the Olive Branch church near Wayne City.
 
Survivors include one son, Homer Wells, of East Peoria; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
