Carroll C. Draper, 84, McLeansboro, died at 12:50 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007 at White Oak Rehab & Health Care, Mt. Vernon.

He was a retired farmer and oilfield roughneck.

Services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Rev. Robert Abbott and Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Visitation is Wednesday from 5 - 8 p.m. at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Burial will be in Brush Harbor Cemetery in McLeansboro.

Mr. Draper was born Feb. 21, 1923 in Fairfield to Curtis O. and Carolyn Ruth Powell Draper. He married Annabelle (Abbott) Draper on Mar. 21, 1947 in Morganfield, Ky. She preceded him in death on June 29, 1994.

He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, and attended Hopewell Baptist Church in McLeansboro and Opdyke Baptist Church in Opdyke.
 
Survivors include three daughters, Ruth Ann (Ronnie) Mayberry of West Columbia, S.C., Janet Herrin of Norris City, Tammy (Tim) Chambliss of Wayne City; two sons, Curtis (Nancy) Draper of Albrightsville, Penn., and Amos (Carolyn) Draper of McLeansboro; 15 grandchildren; 20 great¬grandchildren; and one brother, Herb Draper of Ash Flat, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son Sam Draper, and one sister.
