Melvin Karl Morris, 66, of Thorndale, Texas died Dec. 9, 2007.   Services were held Dec. 12 at the First Baptist Church of Thorndale, Texas.
 
He was raised in the Johnsonville/Cisne area and went to high school at Cisne High. He worked for a while at RB & W in Rock Falls. Melvin met and married his wife, Darlene, while serving in the Army. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum in Texas.
 
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Kevin C. (La Verne) Morris of Road Island, Ronald A. Morris, Texas, Donald E. (Sherrie) Morris of Georgia, and Larry J. Morris of Texas; three grandchildren; one brother, Ralph M. (Betty) Morris of Cisne; and two sisters, Shirley F. Wicham of Granite City and Vera (Gerry) Johnston of Maxville. Fla.
