NORRIS CITY

George Estell Gregory, 84, died at 10:05 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007 at his home in Norris City.

He was born Dec. 14, 1922 in Fairfield, the son of John Irving and Edna (Cline) Gregory, and was married Feb. 22, 1942 to Martha Maxine Chrisman.  Mr. Gregory was a pumper in the oilfields for 45 years. He was manager of W.R. Grace Fertilizer and part-owner of G & H Services, a family trucking business. He was a member and deacon of First Southern Baptist Church in Norris City for many years.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Maxine Gregory of Norris City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Dianne and Earl Prince of Broughton, and Beverly Ann and Bill Henson of Georgetown, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen Estell and Ruthie Gregory of Omaha, and Sam and Judy Gregory of Norris City; a sister, Louise McNeely of Fairfield; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and two special caregivers, Jennifer Neal and Nikki Haney. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy, Earl and Jimmy Gregory.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Southern Baptist Church in Norris City, the Rev. Dennis Reed officiating, with burial in Enfield Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. The body will lie in state at the church after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial gifts in Mr. Gregory's name may be given to the VNA Hospice at Eldorado and will be accepted at the funeral home.
