OBITUARY

GRACE  MAE  JONES

Grace Mae Jones (nee Sefried) of South Holland, Illinois, was born June 15, 1898, on a farm south of Wayne City, Illinois. Her parents were Mary Ann and John D. Sefried.
On March 25,1915, she married Guy Wilson Jones, also from the same area and an employee of Illinois Central Railroad, and they lived in Chicago for several years. 

On Thanksgiving day of 1925 they moved to 14820 Perry Ave Harvey Illinois. When Guy retired they moved back to sothern Illinois (Bell Prairie). When Guy Jones died in December of 1962, Grace Mae Jones moved to Homewood, Illinois, where she resided with her eldest daughter, Lorene, and her husband, Thomas Ertl.

The last eight years she lived with her youngest daughter Florence and her husband Laurence Bultman in South Holland, Illinois.

Grace Mae Jones passed away at 2:52 on August 15, 1987 in St. James Hospital, in Chicago Hieghts, Illinois, after an illness of three months. She was 89 years old.

She is survived by her daughters, Zelma Lorene Ertle of Mesa Az. and Florence Mae Bultman of South Holland IL. four grandchildren, Theresa Grace Hamilton of Wood Dale IL. Carol Louise Moniak of Mesa Az. Laurence Butman II, of South Holland, IL. and Jeffery Lynn Butman of Homewood IL.; four great-grandchildren; Deanna and Thomas Moniak and Jennifer and Joanna Hamilton.  There are many nieces and nephews also surviving.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Wilson Jones; a half brother, Charles Bayles; three brothers William, Bonham, and Leslie.

She was waked Monday August 17,1987 at the Drumm Funeral Home, 1200 East 162nd street in South Holland, from 2:00 to (:00 p.m. She was viewed from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 1987 at the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City Illinois.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 from the Richardson Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Monroe, a baptist minister, presiding. Interment was at the Thomason Cemetery just west of Wayne City, Illinois.
