Deward E. (Dub) Brame, Jr., Dies In East;
Was Educator

Dewar Earl (Dub) Brame, Jr., 50, of Charleston, S. Ca., died Wednesdaymorning, May 1, 1996, at a hospital in that city.  He had been in declining health with cancer.  Mr. Brame was the son of Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Brame , Sr., of rural Fairfield.

He was an assistant principal in the Charleston County School District. Brame was a former principal of the St. Elmo High School in Illinois and former superintendent of the Ector County Youth Detention Center in Odessa, Tex.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Downtown Funeral Chapel of J. Henry Stuhr, Inc.; of Charleston. Private interment services will beconducted at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Tex.

Mr. Brame was born at Salem Aug. 7, 1945, the son of Deward E. and GladysRawlins Brame.  He obtained a master's degree from Southern Illinois University.  He was a Protestant.  Mr. Brame was married to the former Elaine Myers.

Surviving are his wife, Elaine, of Charleston, S.C.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Brame, Sr., of Fairfield; daughters, Christina (Chris) Brame Och, of Bay Town, Tex.; and Shannon Brame, of Sante Fe, N. Mex.; step-daughters, Candice Cockerham, of Charleston, S.C.; and Lori Young, of Abilene, Tex.; a step-son, Darren Crider, of Houston, Tex.; and a brother, Mike Brame, of Isle of Palms, S.C.
