HATTIE MELTON, 103, WALNUT HILL, DIES Mrs. Hattie A. Melton, 103, of Walnut Hill, died yesterday afternoon at the Fireside Nursing Home in Centralia where she had resided since June 1965.

She wa born in Walnut Hill the daughter of James and Laura Shaw. She married Joseph R. Melton on December 1, 1889. He died in 1923.

Mrs. Melton was a member of the Little Grove Christian Church, east of Walnut Hill.
In the past years she had belonged to The War Mothers, since she had sons in WWI and WWII.
She is survived by: 3 sons, Virgil and Charles, both of Walnut Hill and Claude of Centralia; 4 daughters Mrs. Mae Sanders, Mrs. Louise McKinney, and Mrs. Grace McMenaney all of Centralia, Mrs. Elsie Jaske of Carlyle, one sister Mrs. Maude Stephens of Salem, 31 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren, 18 great-great grandchildren. Buried Little Grove Cemetery, east of Walnut Hill.
