ROBERT "BOB" LASATER
DIES IN CHICAGO

Son of Mrs. Clara Lasater
Suffered Cerebral hemorrhage
Rites Wednesday

Robert Lee "Bob" Lasater, 43, former Fairfield boy and son of Mrs. Clara Lasater here, died of a cerebral hemorrhage at a Chicago hospital about two o'clock Sunday morning.

He was stricken near a restaurant where he usually ate lunch, about 12:30 Saturday noon.  He did not regain consciousness.

Mrs. Lasater is receptionist in the office of Dr. Gilbert Ransom here. She was notified of her son's serious illness and was taken to Chicago at once by Nale's service.  She arrived at his bedside before the end came.  The body was returned to Fairfield late Sunday evening in the Nale funeral car.

Mr. Lasater worked a night shift at the Ford aircraft plant in Chicago and had worked Friday night, returning to his apartment Saturday morning.  He left the apartment about 11:45 and took his car to a garage, befor estarting to walk to the restaurant at noon Saturday.

Mr. Lasater had suffered from severe headaches for many years and at one time was ill with sleeping sickness at which time he was unconscious for about eight weeks.

Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. Wednesday from Nale's Funeral Home with Rev. William M. Henderson officiating.  Burial will be at Maple Hill cemetery.  The body will be at the funeral home until the funeral hour.

Robert Lee, son of Wilbur and Clara Lasater, was born July 18th, 1913, at Wayne City.  He spent his youth here, attending and graduating from Fairfield schools.

Member Barnhill Church

He was a member of the Barnhill Baptist church.

Mr. Lasater had been away from Fairfield quite a number of years and had worked at the Ford plant several years.  He was married to Dorothy Young and one daughter was born to this union.

Surviving are a daughter, Becky of Cisne; and his mother, Mrs. Clara Lasater, of this city.  He was preceded in death by his father and one  brother, Wilson "Sus" Lasater, who died in California a number of years ago.
