Lawrence Matz, 80, a retired farmer of Burnt prairie township, died at 3:25 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1982. at Carmi Township Hospital Carmi.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Polycarp church, Carmi with Rev. Joseph C. Hays officiating. Burial will be in St Polycarp Cemetery in Carmi.   Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. Thursday (today) at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was born Mar. 8, 1902 in White county, the son of John and Mary (Rebstock) Matz.

Survivors include one brother, Norbert Matz, of Carmi; two sisters, Stella Matz, of Carmi, and Ceclia Castornia, of St. Louis, Mo.
