Charlie Ralston, 88, Dies

Charlie Earl Ralston, 88, formerly of Fairfield and Sims died at the GoldenMesa Nursing Home in Mesa, Ariz., Saturday, Dec. 25, 1982.   Mr. Ralston had moved to Mesa several years ago to be nearer his children.  He had previously resided on Illinois Avenue in Fairfield.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Johnson Funeral Home, with Bro. Oakley Miller officiating. Burial was in the Richland Cemeterynear Boyleston.

Mr. Ralston was born in Oakland July 25, 1894, the son of Robert and Ellen (Marshall) Ralston.  He farmed near Sims for most of his life and moved to Fairfield after his retirement from farming.  Mr. Ralston was a W. W. I veteran. He joined the Army at Sims.  He was married to the former Emma Hutchinson, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include four sons, Carl J. Ralston, of Tempe, Ariz.; Ovid Ralston, of Rockford; James  Ralston, of Norway; and Edward Ralston, of Sandoval; one daughter, Mrs Hazel Wilson, of Mesa, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
