Sad Death of Neal Stinson

Neal Stinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Stinson, living three miles southeast of this city, met with an accident Saturday last which was instantly fatal. The boy was 16 years, 5 months and 5 days old, and he and a son of John Newton, a neighbor boy, were out hunting rabbits. Their dog started up one and young Stinson climbed on a stump to get a shoot at it. The Newton boy shot the rabbit, and in getting down young Stinson struck the hammers of his gun on the edge of the stumps, discharging both barrels. Both loads struck the boy in the right cheek, and that side of his face, as well as the side and crown of the head were torn off. Death ensued instantly.

Funeral services were held at Lebanon church, conducted by Frank Phelps, of Barnhill, and the remains were laid to rest in Shaeffer cemetery.

In this sudden bereavement the father, mother, brothers and sisters have the sincere sympathy of all.
