EMMA SKINNER

was born in Wayne County, Illinois, May 7, 1861. Died February 25th, 1901, aged 39 years, 9 months and 18 days.

She was married to Geo. W. Castleberry, children - four sons and two daughters, one of whom a son, died in infancy - one son. There are left to mourn her departure, three sons and two daughters, the bereaved companion, one sister, two brothers, other relatives and a host of friends who bow to the will of Him who doeth all things well and worketh all things together for the good of those wo love him.

After suffering more than two years with that dreaded disease, consumption, at her home Monday morning at 9 o'clock, death relieved her sufferings, which she bore with marked patience, and she peacefully closed her eyes and fell asleep in Jesus.

Early in life she profesed faith in Christ. She united with the Missionary Baptist church in 1887 and remained a consistent member of the same until the time of her death. When health permitted, she was a regular attendant at Sabbath school and church, where she was ever ready to help the cause of christianity.

In the departed the family loses a loving companion and a kind and devoted mother and the community a kind neighbor and friend, one who rejoiced with the glad and sympathizer with the sorrowful. Although our hearts are filled with sorrow where we think that one so good is cut off, we believe in the gracious spring-time of the resurrection when this lovely, blighted blossom will bloom afresh in that land where there is no death.

We feel that it may be truly said of her that a true and confidential wife and an affectionate mother and a noble woman has passed away.
