James Logan Sanders,
1861-1931
 
James, the son of James and Mary Sanders was born near Barnhill, Ill., November 23, 1861. Departed this life at his home November 14, 1931, age 69 years, 11 months, and 14 days.
 
He was united in marriage in 1890 with Nancy Vaughan near Fairfield, Ill. To this union eight children were born. Five sons and three daughters. Three having preceded him in death.  Those living are namely: Perry E. of Fairbury, Ill.; William of Forest, Ill.; Harry of Williams, Iowa, Goldie Hilligoss of Anderson, Ind..; and Rosa Day of Fairfield, Ill.

He was a devoted father and husband. He told his companion that he was ready to meet his maker; having made his peace with God nearly three years ago; also told her the prayer of his mother and loved one were answered.
 
He was a kind neighbor, and numbered his friends by his acquaintances.
 
Beside his companion and children, he is survived by ten grand children and three sisters, namely;  Mary O. Simpson of Fairfield, Ill.; Rose Simpson and Emma Vaughan of Burnt Prairie.  Also a number of other relatives and friends who will mourn his passing.
 
Funeral services were conducted at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Monday morning at eleven o'clock by Rev. B. H. Cravens, pastor of the Methodist Church of Allendale, Ill. Internment was in the cemetery of the church.
