Death of Lew L. Fleming

Lew Lander Fleming, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Fleming, died at the home of the family in this city Wednesday morning of this week, at 6:10 o'clock, aged 39 years, 8 months and 13 days. He had been in failing health for some time, and during the past few months it was evident that consumption had fastened its toils about him, and that his time on earth was not to be much longer. Monday of this week he was taken with convulsions, which hastened the end, and his death was hourly expected. Deceased when in good health and in his prime was bright and intelligent, and for a good many years was a travelling salesman, in which he was uncommonly successful. He was of a disposition to win friends, and he prized those friendships so highly that never a word was uttered nor an act committed which would lose him a friend. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all in the ordeal through which they have been required to pass.
