Jessie Betts, 83, of San Benito, Tex., a native of Fairfield, died at the home of her great nephew in Humble, Tex. Friday at 10:15 a.m.

She was the aunt of Mrs. Charles Holstein, Clarence Scott, Ruel and Roy Scott, Alta Fearn, of Geff, and Opal Blackburn.

Mrs. Betts had a heart condition and was released from the hospital in Houstin a week prior to her death.

Services were conducted Monday (today) in San Benito.

She was born in Fairfield, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry P. Simms. She was the last of nine children.
