James R. Taylor
Geff Farmer Dies

One of the Geff area's best known citizens, James R. Taylor, age 59, was dead on arrival at Fairfield Memorial Hospital about noon Wednesday following a heart attack at his home, south of Geff.

Mr. Taylor had not been in robust health since 1961 when he suffered his first heart attack.

It was after that, he retired from farming and moved from the old home place, north of Fairfield, to property south of Geff. Since then he had bought and sold livestock as a hobby.

On May 7 this year he suffered another serious attack and was hospitalized for five weeks where he suffered three more severe attacks. About two weeks ago he returned to his home for a period of recuperation, when he was stricken Wednesday.

The body was moved to Dixon & Johnson funeral home where visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Geff Christian Church with Bro. John Monnet in charge. Burial in Bestow cemetery.

Mr. Taylor was born north of Fairfield on December 20, 1916, the son of Roy and Lelia Taylor. He attended school at Geff and spent his life in that area.

He was married to Cathryn Beck, of near Geff, on November 19, 1939. To this union one son and two daughters were born.

He was a member of the Geff Christian Church and years ago served as a member of the Geff school board.

Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Marlyn, wife of Bill Brown, of Fairfield and Roberta, wife of Bill Allison, of Fairbury; one son Roy William Taylor, of Fairfield; one brother, Max Taylor, of Flora; four grandchildren, Keith Carter, of Fairfield; Kevin Carter, of Fairbury; Kim Brown, of airfield
and Amy Jo Taylor, of Fairfield.
