Well Known Geff Woman
Mrs. Laura Tubbs Dies

A well known Geff woman, Mrs. Laura A. Tubbs, 78, the widow of Fred Tubbs died at 5 a.m. Tuesday (Today) in the Benton Hospital

Mrs. Tubbs had been a patient in a nursing home in Eldorado and just  recently broke her hip. She was being treated for heart problems, the press was told.

Her late husband was a Geff farmer.

Services will be conducted at 1:30 Thursday at the Geff Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Hutson officiating. Burial will be in the Bestow Cemetery in Geff.

Friends may call at the Husselton-DeSelms Funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m.  Wednesday.

Mrs. Tubbs was born in Cisne June 26, 1897, the daughter of G. A. and Laura (Carson) Spalding. On June 26, 1923, she was married to Fred Tubbs at Geff. He died in 1968.

She was a housewife.

She was a member of the Geff United Methodist Church, the Daughters of the  American Revolution (DAR) and a 55-year member of the Geff Woman's Club.

Surviving are one son, Tom,; three grandchildren; one brother, Loy  Spalding, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Tubbs was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Anita June;  her parents.
